Venezuelans Want Miami Consulate Back

You never know how important your consulate is until you try to vote. And if someone doesn’t want your vote to count, the easiest way to accomplish this, in either Venezuela or the United States, appears to be to make it supremely difficult to vote. That’s the lesson of the last election cycle. Now, nationalized Venezuelans are trying to take their country back in the wake of Chávez’s demise. They have begun collecting signatures to request that the U.S. Department of State seek the reopening of Miami’s Venezuelan consulate. Let’s hope they can pull it off.
