Unusual DUI, Even by Miami Standards

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before, in Miami: Older gentleman gets pulled over in a late model GMC Hummer, doing 110 mph in a 25 mph zone, at 2:30 a.m. on a Friday night, speeding North from the Keys.  He get’s pulled over, turns out his construction company – in his wife’s name – has a government contract to work on the road he’s driving on.  He tells the cops he used to work for Pablo Escobar (which may have been true — he pled out), in between offering a $30,000.00 bribe to the police officer to let him go, shortly after having threatened to have the officer “taken out”.  He blows a 0.149, the legal limit is 0.08.

If someone were to tell you that story, you wouldn’t believe them.  Well, it’s true.  A DUI arrest on Big Pine led to this famous tale of tales, which all checked out.  My question is:  How’d he get the government contract?  Oh, that’s right, the company was in his wife’s name.
