Miami: UM Rankings Up, Off The Field

It’s not all bad news for UM.  Just when you thought Nevin Shapiro had done all the damage he could do to the school’s reputation, Donna Shalala has been quietly and not so quietly been executing her vision.  The national media has validated her efforts.  A respected national survey of the country’s top schools puts the University of Miami at No. 38, the ranking it the highest in the State of Florida.  Could UM become the Stanford of the South, with great sports teams and academics?  For thems of us who luv the U, let’s hope so.
