Miami to Vote on Coconut Grove Waterfront Makeover

It’s nostalgia vs. modern makeover on the waterfront in Coconut Grove. It’s Scotty’s Landing vs. Shula’s Steakhouse. Now, it looks like the voters will decide. On Coconut Grove’s picturesque but cluttered waterfront, a ramshackle marina, a seafood restaurant well past its prime and a funky if beloved watering hole known as Scotty’s Landing today occupy seven acres of choice public land next to Miami City Hall. Miami’s voters have to choose the old vs. the new, and it looks like the new has a leg up with support from local polititicians.
