Miami to Declare ‘Financial Urgency’

Tough sledding these days.  Several cities, most prominently Stockton, CA, have declared bankruptcy.  It’s designed as a tool to force the golden pensioners to take less than they are presently entitled to.  I’m not sure we need to be as drastic as a Bankruptcy for our cities in Florida.  Under state law, the city can impose changes on union contracts in order to balance its budget. Union leader insisted Thursday that the city should instead hike taxes.  I wonder how many of them consider themselves Republicans?  “Don’t raise my taxes, raise their taxes”.  City politics in an election cycle have a chance to be interesting, even if completely toothless.
