Miami: North Miami students protest valedictorian’s order to leave country

Despite what some of the over-heated immigration activists might say, I don’t think our forefathers intended our immigration laws to work this way.  I don’t think we want to be in the business of exporting our best and our brightest.  Unfortunately, that’s how it appears to be working for Daniela Pelaez.  Ms. Pelaez came to the United State at age 4, was denied permanent residency last week, and a judge issued an order for her to depart the country.  Now of the majority age of 18, she is slated to be the valedictorian of her school.  If allowed to go through, this would not only be a tragedy, but incredibly stupid.
