Miami: Legislators Want Gaming For…Jobs!?!

Malaysian gambling giant Genting has put their money on the table, and Miami is one of those towns in which morality can be bought.  I’m not for or against creating more ways for adults to be separated from their hard-earned money, but to attribute any new enthusiasm for gaming in South Florida to the Region’s unemployment rate is, at best, convenient.  Money talks.  Always has, always will.   So if the rich, free spending Asians want gambling, chances are, we’ll have gambling.  Although our legislators are saying that the casino industry interest and the state’s dismal economy make the timing right for the Florida Legislature to approve a casino bill this year, the truth is, the price is right.
