Miami: FPL to Green-Up with New Power Plant

Some consider them an eyesore, others a landmark.  No matter your take, the four 350-foot smokestacks which punctuate the Port Everglades landscape will vanish in 2013 under a $1 billion plan by the power company to build a cleaner-burning generating facility.  This announcement comes shortly after FPL demolished their Riviera Beach plant in Palm Beach for the same reason.
