Miami: Closer to Shangri-La

Developers build. That’s what they do, that’s how they make money. Even though several of Miami’s beautiful, new gleaming towers sit completely empty (Mint, Paramount – love those names), or nearly empty (ICON – love that name too, reminds me of Mel Gibson), there are several developers promising to build even taller towers, and more ornate developments. No project embodies “the need to build” more than the Watson Island Shangri-La dream of Turkish developer Mehmet Bayraktar. Miami will get our mega-yacht port yet.
