Gov. Rick Scott signed an unexpected deal with the Seminole Tribe yesterday that opens the door for a resort casino offering slots in Dade.
Resorts World Miami and the Fontainebleau are expected to compete for the license. Just 750 slot machines and 750 instant racing machines will be permitted, and it would require approval from voters.
The deal must still be voted on by the legislature, but faces critics from both pro and anti-gambling lobbyists.
