City Manager Makes Friend’s Electric Bill Disappear

What’s a couple of grand between friends?  Homestead’s former city manager and current mayor will not be charged in a case involving erasing a $10,000 electric bill tallied by a member of a well-known South Dade farming family.  But hey, in the words of Dionne Warwick:  “That’s what friends are for.”  Unfortunately, in my case, I’m more like Garth Brooks:  “I’ve got friends in low places.”
