$35M Awarded in Miccosukee DUI Crash

The message is don’t drink and drive, the reality is, if you do it repeatedly, as in the case of Thomas Cypress, brother of former Miccosukee tribal chairman Billy Cypress, you’re going to have to pay…a lot.  A jury ruled that Cypress must pay $35 million total for the deaths of a retired Maryland couple on Tamiami Trail in 2009.  Cypress plead guilty in 2010, was a chronic alcohol abuser.
